I tried to create sort of a news story type piece that highlights the detriments of stretches that are commonly thought as good practice to do before workouts. This ties into my topic choice of fitness and is something I believe should be widely known to everyone. This is why I choice a news or article type style so that it comes off as an informative piece. I did a some research by looking at medical studies that prove what I state as fact so that it would be as true to the truth as possible without exaggerating to such a point that lets people know that stretching is not bad for you for everything, just particular warm ups are not beneficial towards some activities. In adobe I took the best sound bits of my recording of a gym atmosphere to really emphasize the fact that it is a gym. I then put those points as my introduction and at the end of the piece. Overall I think this is a decent piece and I just need to work on the actual story of the piece more so that it flows better and has useful information on what stretches are best for activities and give examples of some basic stretches. I am also not sure if my gym recording exemplifies the idea that it is in fact from a gym and that it is apparent to all listeners.
Article that I used for facts
I think you did a really good job with this piece and it could definitely be exactly what you want out of the project. I really like how you used the gym noises as your ambiance because it really puts the idea and mood of your news piece into the audio. One thing I would fix is the length of the gym noises in the beginning and the transition into your speaking. It is very hard to hear you when you first begin speaking and I believe it is because you faded your speaking instead of fading the gym noises. Another thing I would fix are the awkward pauses between your speaking towards the end. Again, I would fade the gym noises in after you speak to make it flow better. Overall, I think you did a really good job with this and it doesn’t need much more until you have what you’re working toward.

Hey Kyler,
I think your story is really interesting and informative, i didn’t realize static stretching could be doing more harm than good. I like how you made it feel like a news story with the language and tone that you used as well as the opening sound. I think you could make your final great by just adding a few things. I think that you should break up the speaking with more background noise, or maybe some interviews from experts and their opinions on the matter just to really make it seem like a news story. Anyways its sounding good and good luck on the final product.

I like the topic you chose because am doing something like you how to do different workout.I like everything you did to your piece if I had to say what to fix is to try to put the volume more up on the audio.I like everything else your really don’t need to fix that much things.

From the initial interview I like the idea you’re trying to portray however, the intro at first I thought it was a restaurant and not a gym. Also the tone of it is very low and it is kind of difficult to understand what you’re saying. I do think you need to highlight it more as news segment and articulate the main ideas you want too come across with since the beginning. I feel like a lot of it was confusing and very difficult to hear. I Think that putting the voice a bit higher and better quality then it will be great. Your description seems like you know what you have to work on in order to achieve what you’re hoping to create. Overall, I think you have a great idea though!

Reading through the comments left from my peers has informed me to touch up some segments in my story and to include some more information. I will definitely put a lot of the constructive criticism to good use and look to fix the flaws in my draft so that my final project will be what I envisioned that it would. It was truly helpful to get the feedback from multiple people to better understand how different people hear the ambient noises so that I can look to have the sound that is recognized as what I want it to. I am going to play with the sound and redo my audio so that it is clearer and more professional.
